The kitchen is ideal for cooking Croatian food. There are always pepperoni and onions from the adjacent garden at hand. The cooking tools are not hidden in cupboards. They hang openly from the wrought-iron kitchen rack. Many components of the project were manufactured directly on site. For metalworking, we relied on the experience of the Lippkau company from Warngau. Eham has a long-standing friendship and working relationship with Wolfgang and Georg. Their quality is evident in the details, for example in the many handmade door fittings or in the hooping of the butcher’s block. Meat and fish can be prepared for a host of friends on the massive platter.
A set of French doors leads from the dining room to the outdoors. The distinctive round arches are inspired by the large barn doors of the region. When it gets dark outside, the fire in the stone fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere. Today, the lights in Casa Špilja are sure to stay on for a long time.
